Aside from the natural beauty of the local area, there are also many places to visit and events throughout the year.

From Garden festivals and local food fairs, to rally cars and mountaineering. Carriage driving and country sports to film and literary festivals, the Eden Valley has lots to offer.

Lowther Horse Driving Trials and Country Fair - Introduce the drama, thrills and excitement of Lowther's world famous driving trials...Add a variety of attractions to see and take part in...Plus some superb sounds...Bring in TV chef Ross Burden with some tempting flavours..Serve it all in a perfect setting the fringe of the Lake District, and you have the perfect mix that makes Lowther Unique.

Penrith - The 3rd Tuesday every month 9.30am - 2pm.

Orton - Voted National Farmers' Market of the year 2005, The 2nd Saturday every month 9.30am - 2.30pm.

Brough - The 3rd Saturday every month 9.30am - 2pm or 9.30am - 1pm January to March.

Pooley Bridge - The Last Sunday of the month, April to September 10am - 2.30pm

Visit www.Dalemain.com for all events happening at Dalemain Historic House and Gardens, Nr Penrith, including the Wigton Motor Classic Car show held on Sunday 19th August. Appleby Horse Fair - Held annually in Appleby from the 1st Thursday in June for 1 week.
